Mandya, June 25: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials have arrested two persons, members of a five-member gang which had allegedly robbed two women passengers of their jewellery.
RPF sources said the gang relieved the two woman of gold jewellery worth nearly Rs 90,000 when they travelling on the night of May 27 near Yeliyur near here in the Bangalore-Mangalore Mangala Express. The accused were identified as Ganesh (22) of Dollahalli village in Arakalgud taluk in Hassan district and Chandra alias Bosi(24) belonging to the city. They were nabbed yesterday near Bangalore railway station when they were reportedly attempting to commit another robbery.
The two were produced before the JMFC court here and remanded to judicial custody.
A search was on for other three members of the gang. The five accused boarded the Mangalore-bound Mangala express at Mandya railway station, the sources added.
