Royal Wedding: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle invite 1,200 common people

London: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are inviting 1,200 common people to Windsor Castle on their wedding day, said Kensington Palace on Friday. Chosen from different backgrounds from the United Kingdom, they will able to witness the grand Royal Wedding as guests on May 19.

As per The Guardian’s report, the couple said they want common people “to feel part of the celebrations”. The members from the public will be nominated by nine regional lord lieutenant offices, that have queen’s representatives in counties of the UK. The invitees will be able to watch the bride and groom at St. George’s Chapel, where the ceremony will be held.

A statement from Kensington Palace said: “The couple has asked that the people chosen are from a broad range of backgrounds and ages, including young people who have shown strong leadership, and those who have served their communities.” There will be a separate reception hosted by Prince Charles in the evening for friends and family.
