Royal Dutch Shell to slash 6,500 jobs

London, July 30 : Oil giant Royal Dutch Shell has announced that it is about to shed 6,500 jobs as part of cost-cutting plans to counter decreasing oil prices.

The job slash of an employee base of around 94,000 people comprises part of the company’s four billion dollar reduction in operating costs.

Shell has also stated that it will be cutting investment rates by seven billion dollars to about thirty billion dollars this year, and added that it planned to reduce costs further in 2016. (ANI)
