Royal couple show their cricketing skills in Mumbai

Mumbai: You must have seen the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, strolling in their lavish gardens in London, but it was unusual to see them trying their hands at India`s most beloved game `cricket`.

The royal couple, who arrived on Sunday morning on a seven-day tour of India and Bhutan, was seen playing cricket with the children from an NGO SMILE at the oval ground.

Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar was seen bowling to the Duchess of Cambridge, who smashed him out of the park. What was more exciting to see was former Indian cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar standing behind the wickets when the Master Blaster was bowling to Kate Middleton.

They had also stopped off at the Banganga Water Tank, where the couple received a special welcome. They were given flower garlands and placed petals in the water during a traditional ceremony.

The couple was also seen interacting with the locals and the young children of an NGO.The royal couple had earlier paid tribute to the victims of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks at the memorial at the Taj Palace Hotel here.
