New Delhi, April 29: Millions across the globe who didn’t get invited to the royal wedding of Prince William and his university sweetheart Kate Middleton, chose to watch the two exchange their wedding rings live on video sharing website YouTube.
More than 5.1 million people around the world watched as bride and groom took their wedding vows in Westminster Abbey, according to the details available on YouTube.
YouTube, which streamed the videos through British broadcaster BBC, followed the wedding procession, marriage ceremony at Westminster Abbey and balcony kiss at Buckingham Palace.
Prince William, the second-in-line to the British throne, and Middleton had got engaged last October.
In India, the wedding was the fifth most searched item on search giant Google. Also, four related terms appeared in the top 10 searches.
Metros like Delhi and Chennai seemed most interested in viewing the ceremony online, according to Google data.
