Rowdy sheeter sent to 5-day ACB custody in cash-for-bail scam

The Anti Corruption Bureau Court on Saturday remanded rowdy-sheeter Yadagiri Rao, who allegedly brokered the cash-for-bail deal between CBI first additional special judge T Pattabhirama Rao and illegal mining accused Gali Janardhan Reddy, to ACB custody for five days.

The court while granting custody of Yadagiri Rao from Monday, directed the officials to question him from morning 10 to 5 pm in the presence of his lawyers and asked the officials not to use any third degree methods during interrogation.

The ACB counsel argued that Yadagiri played crucial role in brokering the cash-for-bail deal between T Pattabhirama Rao and Gali Janardhana Reddy and the investigative agency has substantial evidence to prove it. In the ACB raids, the counsel said that the sleuths have recovered Rs 2.25 crore in cash and valuable documents from his residence at Nacharam.
