A notorious rowdy-sheeter was killed in an encounter with police during the wee hours of Sunday.
According to the police, rowdy-sheeter Kattekola Sudhir, 24, a resident of Power House Colony, was wanted in connection with an attack on a businessman. He is also an accused in two murder cases.
On getting information that the rowdy-sheeter was hiding near Rakesh Theatre, the police raided his hideout and tried to grab him. Sudhir made an attempt to escape by opening fire at them, said the police. They claimed that the rowdy-sheeter was killed on the spot when they returned fire in self defence.
DSP Udaya Kumar Reddy visited the spot. Police said they had seized a gun used by the criminal from the encounter spot. (NSS)
