Political scientist Prof. G. Hargopal on Tuesday opined that there were many flaws in the Mallannasagar project design and demanded that its height be reduced.
Participating at the a round-table on the Mallannasagar project here at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram, Baghlingampally, Prof Haragopal demanded that the State government construct projects keeping in mind the interests of the people, especially the farmers. The Mallanasagar reservoir’s height should be reduced. He suggested to the government to shed its adamant attitude on the project and do justice to all stakeholders.
Irrigation expert and chief engineer T. Hanumanth Rao gave a power point presentation on the project and said that the state actually does not need this project. Telangana JAC chairman Prof. M. Kodandaram, and others also spoke. (INN)
