Rotary International to distribute dual desks in 7,593 High Schools

Rotary International District 3150, in support with local clubs, foreign partners and Rotary Foundation to distribute 7,593 High School Dual Desks here in city in a function to be held at Hitex Grounds, Madhapur on 25th June. These school desks will benefit 22,779 children every year in the five revenue districts of Telangana State.

President Elect of Rotary International K.R. Ravindran, and Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao will grace as Chief Guests and handover the Desks to the 145 schools.

Dr. D. Manoj Desai, Director Elect Rotary Intl, Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, Member of Parliament, Medak, Santha Sinha of MV Foundation and Marri Ravindra Reddy, Counsellor of Rotary Foundation will be gracing the desks distribution function as Guests of Honour.

The District 3150 in the last five years has provided more than 75,000 school disks free of cost.

These desks each costing Rs 2400/- totally valuing Rs 1.82 crore are born by Rotary Local Clubs, Foreign Partners and Rotary Foundation. Each of these entities have contributed Rs 800/- towards each bench. Thus totally financed by them informed Past District Governor Dr. Ravi Vadlamani, Chairman of Save Our Schools initiative of the Rotary International while addressing a press conference here in city today.

Benches to these 145 Government Schools located in Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medak, Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam, Mahboobnagar, Kurnool will be door delivered, Ravi Vadlamani added.

The partners of this initiative include Rotary Club of Greater Hyderabad, Rotary Club of Guntur, Rotary Club of Guntur, Andhra Pradesh; 17 Participating Clubs in Telangana

With the support of Rotary Intl District 1400, Finland; RI District Taiwan; RC St. Simons Island, RC Brunswick, RC Golden Isles-Glymn County & RC Mcintosh County, Ri District 6920, USA, said Ravi Vadlamani.

All the 7,593 high school dual desks which will be distributed free of cost will be physically displayed at the function, which will be graced by well over 500 guests and representatives of the schools. (INN)
