Rose Day for a cause

Hyderabad, September 24: Aureate Cancer Foundation, one of the leading support groups dedicated to cancer awareness, organised Rose Day celebrations for cancer patients at the Indo American Cancer Institute & Research Center, a leading cancer hospital in the city.

The objective was to provide some solace to the patients who are in the grip of the disease.

International Rose Day is a UN day to mark the spread of awareness about cancer and concern for the affected people.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Senthil J Rajappa, Oncologist, Indo American Cancer Institute & Research Center said, “It is a special day for remembering and sharing a cancer patient’s trauma. The objective is to bring cheer to all cancer patients by gifting roses with a message to show them our love, support, care and concern.”

More than 250 cancer patients and their families participated in the annual event. For sometime the cancer patients and survivors forgot their pain as they were entertained by a magic show performed by a leading magician and laughed their heart out in the mimicry show performed by some professionals.
