Hyderabad, November 14: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah today launched a scheme that aims at providing better healthcare to school children.
The scheme ‘Jawahar Bala Arogya Raksha’ was inaugurated by the Chief Minister at Narsingi village on the outskirts of the city.
It is intended to benefit about 82 lakh children, Rosaiah said.
The scheme envisages conducting health check-up at least twice annually to the school children and they will be given a health and education card, officials said.
Aiming to eliminate malnutrition, the children would be given medicines for deficiency of blood and iron among others.
