Hyderabad, August 04: The TDP chief Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu has alleged that the Chief Minister Mr. K. Rosaiah has compromised with the state’s interests on the Babli project, for his own position.
Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, he has demanded that what transpired in the Chief Ministers’ conference be made public. Questioning the Prime Minister’s directive that both the states should abide by the directions of the Supreme Court, he has reminded that the Maharashtra Government has already violated the Apex Court’s orders on the Babli issue. He has questioned if the neighbouring state would stop Babli and the other 13 illegal projects, if the Supreme Court directs the state to stop them.
The former Chief Minister said it would have been better if Mr. Rosaiah had not attended the Chief Ministers’ conference. It was shameful that Mr. Rosaiah who ‘failed to strongly put forth the argument of the state, had even supported the advise of the union minister Mr. Bansal directing both the Chief Ministers to abide by the Supreme Court’s decision.’, Stating that Babli was hundred percent an illegal project, he has questioned if Mr. Rosaiah did not know it. He said even Maharashtra knew that Babli was an illegal project.
Mr. Naidu has earlier held a meeting with party senior leaders and discussed the future course of action on the Babli issue. According to information, the party is planning to intensify its agitation on the Babli project.
