Rosaiah to check execution of decisions during tours

Hyderabad, January 22: The two-day Collectors’ conference closed on Thursday with an announcement by Chief Minister K. Rosaiah that he would verify during his district tours beginning Saturday whether the decisions were being implemented by Collectors.

Summing up the deliberations, Mr Rosaiah told reporters that revenue issues were assigned top priority at such meeting for the first time “as never before” as people’s daily life was so much to do with Revenue Department.

Complaints were still pouring in about title-deeds of lands despite standardisation of revenue records.

He said the overall objective of the conference was to bring about a change in the lives of the poor. Collectors were advised not to hesitate to contact him even on phone if such a need arose.

Earlier, the Chief Minister had one-to-one meetings with collectors of the left-out districts, giving on-the-spot decisions over the problems identified.

However, review of law and order situation could not be taken up as Superintendents of Police were busy in the light of the on-going agitations for and against Telangana state.
