Rosaiah Behind Naidu’s Arrest, Says Nagam

Hyderabad, July 18: The TDP senior leader, Dr Nagam Janardhana Reddy, has alleged that the Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, was behind the arrest of his party supremo, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, and others in Maharashtra.

Talking to the media at the NTR Trust Bhavan on Saturday, Dr Reddy said that the Chief Minister was hand in glove with the Maharashtra government and got Mr Naidu and other TDP leaders, who went to inspect the Babli project, arrested by the police there. Stating that the arrest of Mr Naidu and others was an affront to the people of Andhra Pradesh, Dr Nagam demanded apology from the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra, to the people of the State.

Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy, who is TDLP deputy leader, said that it was shameful that the Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, the Congress ministers, MPs or MLAs of that party had not condemned the arrest of Mr Naidu, who was the Chief Minister of AP for nine years. He alleged that the State government had paid money to the Maharashtra government for the land that submerged in that State under the Sri Ram Sagar Project (SRSP) and therefore the hinterland of the project belonged to Andhra Pradesh.

He also questioned the neighboring State as how it could construct a project on the land for which AP government had paid money and was to have submerged. Stating that the land for which compensation was paid was part of the SRSP, he has questioned how a project could be constructed under another project.
