Rosaiah asserts govt’s efforts to tackle swine flu

Hyderabad, September 08: With four swine flu deaths in the city in recent days, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah today asked officials to remain on alert and to take all measures to see that there is no let-up in drive against the deadly virus.

Asking officials to spare no efforts in containing the deadly swine flu, the chief minister directed them on undertaking preventive measures against the threat of swine flu and for its early detection and treatment. He said there was no need to panic.

The swine flu outbreak in the country has claimed more than 100 lives so far and the first swine flu death in Andhra Pradesh was reported on August 31. The first swine flu virus (confirmed case) was reported on May 13, in a 23-year-old passenger who arrived in Hyderabad from New York.
