Rosaiah assails Naidu for remarks on OBC issue

Hyderabad, November 22: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah today strongly objected to the remarks by TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu on the Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) issue.

Demanding Mr Naidu to prove his allegations that Chief Minister and some officials were in the ‘pay rolls’ of OMC owned by Karnataka Minister Gali Janaradhana Reddy, Mr Rosaiah said ‘I am ready to face any inquiry on the corruption charges levelled against me.” ”I am challenging Mr Naidu to come forward for an open discussion on the issue any time. If he proves any corruption charges against me, I will come to the ‘praja court’ and ready to accept any punishment,” he told newspersons here.

Alleging that Mr Naidu was making baseless allegations against him and the Congress due to frustration as the people of Andhra Pradesh had rejected the TDP and his leadership in 2004 and 2009 election, Mr Rosaiah said in a democracy political party leaders should accept the verdict of the people.

Stating that the government had constitued a three-member panel to inquire into the allegation on illegal mining in Obulapuram Mining company in Ananthapur district, Mr Rosaiah said to ascertain the facts, he had also ordered a CBI inquiry into the mining issue as it involved Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
