Hyderabad, May 09: Chief Minister K Rosaiah said that he would ask the Centre to give some concessions to the state with regard to distribution of gas in the KG basin.
Speaking to reporters here today in the wake of the Supreme Court’s order that the Government had the authority over the gas deposits and could determine the price, he said that since the Reliance Group had explored gas deposits in the KG Basin which was located in the State he would seek the Centre to give some concessions in the price.
“Since gas is being explored from our own backyard, we would like the Centre to give more gas to Andhra Pradesh,’’ Rosaiah added.
The Chief Minister hailed the Supreme Court decision and stated that the Government’s argument had won in the Apex Court.
He hoped the Centre would distribute gas to states on a scientific basis and categorically stated that would see that the state’s interests would not be compromised. Earlier, he participated at a national conference on `Indian Management and Ethical Values,’’ here today. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister lamented that the standards in education have been coming down. The programme was organised by Badruka Educational Institutions.
