London : Star striker Cristiano Ronaldo has slammed his critics after helping Real Madrid progress through to the Champions League semifinals for a record sixth successive time with his sensational performance.
The Portuguese international scored a scintillating hat-trick as Real thrashed Wolfsburg 3-2 on aggregate following a 3-0 win in the second leg of the quarterfinals at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday.
Ronaldo, who came under severe criticism earlier for not performing in biggest games, said that he was unaffected by the criticism and that ‘the numbers are there for all to see’, the Guardian reported.
He said that he was pleased with his performance, insisting that he wanted to keep scoring for the team.
Ronaldo has netted 46 goals in all competitions so far this season and is currently the top scorer in the Champions League and La Liga. (ANI)
