Hyderabad, April 09: The State Election Commission (SEC) has ordered for publication of ward-wise electoral rolls for conduct of the fourth ordinary elections to 10 municipal corporations, 85 municipalities and Nagar Panchayats on May 16.
The latest Assembly electoral rolls, published on January 5 by the Election Commission of India, will be re-arranged ward-wise in respect of all urban local bodies.
As per statute, the Assembly electoral rolls have to be adopted for all elections to urban local bodies.
The SEC has ordered for preparation and publication of ward-wise electoral rolls with photo images on May 16.
After such publication, if any person wishes to lodge any claim for inclusion of their name or any objection to inclusion of a name or particulars in any entry in ward-wise electoral rolls, the person should first file necessary claim or objection before the electoral registration officer and get it settled.
Necessary steps will be taken by concerned EROs to process all claims and objections filed under continuous updating of Assembly electoral rolls.
Further, all inclusions, deletions and corrections ordered by EROs in the electoral rolls, will be carried out in ward-wise electoral rolls, by adding the relevant part till the issue of election notification.
Political parties and the public can avail this opportunity to get their names included, deleted or corrected in Assembly electoral rolls and consequent changes carried out in ward-wise electoral rolls of urban local bodies, said SEC secretary, GM Ramesh Kumar.
