Roll-out FASTag sytem on ORR from Dec. 11

Hyderabad: HMDA is contemplating to roll-out RFID FASTag Electronic Toll Collection System on Outer Ring Road (ORR) from December 11 and trials and tests have been conducted jointly with present toll collection agency IRB Infrastructures Developers Limited, System Integrator Messrs Efkon and Acquiring Bank Messrs ICICI bank.

Central server of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) Central Clearing House (CCH) was given a role to maintain the data base of RFID Tag applicants and the Acquiring Bank was given a role to integrate CCH server with National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) system & Toll Plaza System (HGCL Server) for the toll fare calculation & making transactions between HGCL/Toll Concessioner & CCH.

HMDA Metropolitan Commissioner Dr B Janardhan Reddy has conducted a review meeting recently at ORR Project Office, Nanakramguda with the representatives of IHMCL, NPCI, ICICI bank, Messrs Efkon, Messrs IRB, Messrs Nippon Koei and Messrs ITS Planners. During the meeting, various representatives assured that, their support will be extended to roll-out FASTag sytem on ORR. The system will go live with RFID based ETC with brand name of FASTag . ICICI bank who is the Acquiring bank has already established Point of Sale at three locations at Shamshabad, Nanakramguda and Patancheru and the Tags will be sold at these locations initially.
For understanding of the road users, signage boards are being placed at interchanges and Toll booths informing to use FASTag lanes.

The system will cover all 19 interchanges on the ORR and will result in efficient toll collection.
