Launching a scathing attack against AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, YSRCP legislator R K Roja has alleged that the TDP government was least bothered about the prevailing drought situation in the State.
Participating in the Jala Deeksha launched by YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy against Telangana irrigation projects on the second day, Roja said the State suffered a huge loss of Rs 4,000 crore due to the acute drought conditions. But the Chief Minister could not bring even Rs 400 crore from the Centre for drought relief work, she alleged.
She also alleged that even drought relief funds were being misused by the State government. In the name of distribution of butter milk, the government released Rs 39 crore, she said, adding that only Heritage butter milk was being sold from the outlets. Roja said while the chief ministers of drought affected States were meeting the Prime Minister and seeking adequate financial assistance for drought relief works, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was investing money in Switzerland on benami names. Alleging that if 115 tmc of water was diverted from Palamuru-Rangareddy and Dindi lift irrigation projects and the Rayalaseema region would not get a drop of water, Roja appealed to the people to support Jala Deeksha of Jagan.
The YSRCP legislator also alleged that Chandrababu Naidu has mortgaged special status issue with the Centre for “cash-for-vote” scam. (NSS)
