Hyderabad: Awareness of BJP’s communal ideology is inevitable for curbing rising atrocities against Dalits and minorities on national level. During the past two and a half years, central government has tried to saffronise education right from primary level to university level. Student Union member of Hyderabad Central University Rohith Vemula’s death was not a suicide but a political, social, cultural and institutional murder for which central government’s divide and rule policy is responsible. Muslim-Dalit unity is imperative for curbing atrocities on Dalit and minorities. These views were expressed by leaders of various parties and organisations while addressing a round table conference entitled “Rohith Vemula: An Example of Modern Inequality and Institutional Murder” held by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee SC Cell.
Convenor Conference K Mohan Rao supervised the conference, President TPCC Captain Uttam Kumar Reddy, working President TPCC Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Chairman Telangana Joint Action Committee Prof. Kodandaram, revolutionary singer Vimla, Convenor TPCCSC Cell Prasad and others addressed on the occasion.
The speakers reiterated that Rohith’s death was not a suicide but an institutional murder for which Union ministers Bandaru Dattatreya, Smriti Irani, MLC Chintala Ramachandra and Appa Rao were responsible.
