Rohit Sharma breaks Virat Kohli’s record in T20Is

India won the T20 against the West Indies as the opener Rohit Sharma’s scintillating 111-run unbeaten knock helped team India to post a mammoth 195 runs on the board before the Indian bowlers restricted the West Indies to 124 runs in 20 overs.

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Rohit said: “Glad that we won this game and this series as well. Me and Shikhar Dhawan took the time initially. I think the 120-plus partnership between us was very crucial.”

Rohit Sharma also surpassed the Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s record to become India’s highest run-scorer in T20 Internationals during the second game against the West Indies at the newly-built Ekana Stadium.

Rohit needed just 11 runs to surpass Kohli’s record before the start of the match and he achieved this milestone in style, before the match Virat Kohli held the record, making 2101 runs from 62 T20 matches at an average of 48.88.

The Indian opener Rohit Sharma took 86 matches to reach the milestone.
