Robbers strike passengers of Narayandri Express

In another incident of train robbery, some unidentified miscreants allegedly robbed passengers and fled with their gold jewellery and cash in Tirupati-bound Narayanadri Express in the wee hours of Wednesday.

According to Nellore Railway Police, the miscreants robbed passengers of sleeper coaches of S7, S9, S10 and S12 of Secunderabad-Tirupati Narayanadri Express at Edlapally Railway gate betweenTsundur-Tenali stations. They stole about 50 tolas of gold jewellery, cash and cell phones of passengers who were asleep.

The robbers even tried to rob passengers in S13 and S14 coaches. However, the passengers resisted their moves by raising an alarm. With this the robbers pulled the emergency chain and jumped out of the train.

Later, the victims lodged a complaint with the Nellore Railway Police.

The passengers complained that such incidents were frequently occurring between Tsundur-Tenali and Dornakal and Khammam railway stations. (INN)
