Robbers loot items worth lakh from Ashram

Mathura: Nearly a dozen armed robbers looted goods and cash from an Ashram in Chaumuha under Vrindaban police station after tying three watchmen there in a rope, police said today.

The incident took place on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday when the robbers looted a tractor, two motorbikes, computer, inverter, LCD TV and other articles along with Rs 30,000 cash.

After overpowering three night watchmen the robbers tied them with a rope and threw them outside the boundary.

While four of the robbers kept a watch on them, their accomplices collected the items, according to an FIR filed in the case.

Two teams have been formed to work out the case, SSP Babloo Kumar said.

The Ashram is being developed by Bramharshi Kumar Swami, a spiritual teacher.
