New Delhi, May 24: Unknown persons allegedly robbed cash and valuables worth Rs 4.5 lakh from a banquet hall during a marriage function here, police said today.
The incident occurred last night at a banquet hall at north Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh area, police said.
The robbers took advantage of a stampede-like situation that followed a fire caused by an electrical short circuit, they said.
Though the fire was brought under control even before fire tenders reached the place, the criminals decamped with the cash, lying in the office of the banquet hall, and jewelleries of the bride, they added.
