Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) identified nearly 4000 potholes across the city and claims to have been filled half of them on Sunday, the intensity of works continued till Monday.
“Monsoon Emergency Teams are filling all identified 4000 potholes on the roads in the city,” said GHMC Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan, “If the rain stops, or takes an excuse the roads works will be completed on or before Tuesday,” He added.
Officials of the corporation said “Monsoon emergency teams are engaged in filling potholes on war’ foot”ing since Friday night onwards.”
Mayor continued, “Short-term tenders have been completed within two days for the rehabilitation of the damaged roads, Road rehabilitation of Metro Rail Corridor across Hyderabad Metro Rail network is requiring over 5 crores.”
The same day, City Mayor Bonthu Rammohan instructed GHMC and Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) and Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Limited (HRDCL) to complete road repairs in the city Hyderabad on a wartime basis.
Rammohan, Commissioner of GHMC Dana Kishore Hyderabad Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy inspected the damaged roads between Kavadiguda, Gandhi Hospital until RTC Cross Roads in Secunderabad Zone. They also inspected the water stagnation areas from Musheerabad Chourasta to RTC Cross Roads.
Dana Kishore said, “There is a pothole burying process on the roads is being done using jet pack machines.”
