(Siasat NEws) Roadside trees which are planted by Municipality are now being painted with saffron colour for Pooja purposes. These trees maintain ecological balance and reduce pollution and give shades. Felling of trees is a punishable crime which can send people who cut the trees to jail besides imposing heavy fines. These trees are planted to benefit every body but a particular group of people is trying to possess them by painting them with saffron colour. It is an illegal act which could cause disruption of peace. Some miscreants are painting these trees and pooja is being started. On some trees the photography of gods and goddesses have also been hung and pooja was started. Municipal Corporation has the records of these trees but it is not taking any action against the miscreants. If this situation is not checked, they will be converted into Hindu temples in the future.
