Deputy CLP leader Telangana Legislative Assembly T Jeevan Reddy has accused the State Government of giving major project works to a tainted contractor.
Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, Jeevan Reddy said that development works in north Telangana worth about Rs 2,000 crore have been assigned to a contractor who is facing allegations of misappropriation of crores of rupees in Rajiv Rahdari project. He said that the Bhanu Prasad Sub-Committee was also constituted to probe into the allegations. However, the State Government did not release the findings of the Sub-Committee in the public domain. He demanded that the State Government cancel the works allotted to the ‘tainted’ contractor and place the Sub-Committee’s report before the Telangana Legislative Assembly. He said the irregularities were also pointed out by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) in its annual report.
Jeevan Reddy also demanded construction of a expressway from Rythu Bazar in Alwal to Jubilee Bus Stand in Secunderabad. He said hundreds of commuters have been facing difficulties in travelling on this stretch of road due to heavy traffic. (INN)
