Road accident triggers communal tension in Ballia District of UP

Ballia: On Wednesday, a mob of hundreds attacked a specific religious community in Ratsar Township of UP.

According to the news published in TOI, the mob destroyed carts of fruit and vegetable vendors. Two shops were also set on fire.

However, police came into action immediately and brought the situation under control. 16 miscreants were arrested.

It may be mentioned that on Tuesday, in a road accident, motorcycle-borne Intekhab Alam hit the bicycle of Arvind Rajbhar who was passing through the Muslim concentration area. He suffered a head injury and was rushed to the hospital.

In the meantime, Arvind’s family registered a police complaint against Alam after which police arrested him.

Angered over the deteriorating condition of Arvind, his relatives informed their neighbours about the accident.

Immediately after getting this information, a large number of youths attacked the area and destroyed properties.

Giving the details of the incident, Mr. Anil Kumar, SP of Ballia told that when the attack took place, traders and locals fled away leaving their shops and houses. He further informed that the situation is under control now.
