RLD chief Ajit Singh calls on Chandrababu

Hyderabad, November 15: Rashtriya Lok Dal President Ajit Singh today called on Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu at the latter?s residence here.

While Singh sought Naidu’s help in opposing the ordinance on essential commodities issued by the centre, the latter sought the RLD chief?s support in fighting illegal mining across Andhra-Karnataka border.

The ordinance, according to Singh, was brought out with the objective of making a uniform policy for determining levy sugar price.

“The amendments made by the government are unfavourable to the sugarcane farmers. I seek your cooperation in not allowing the ratification of the ordinance and stop implementation of the Control Order,” Singh told Chandrababu.

“The amendment should have been done to reduce disputes between sugar mills and farmers over sugarcane price. But now, there would be more disputes between them and may also increase litigation,” Ajit Singh feared.
