Patna, July 25: In the wake of a CAG report stating financial irregularities in Bihar, Opposition RJD made a fresh demand today for resignation of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi who, the party said, owned moral responsibility for misusing development funds.
Quoting the report, RJD national general secretary Ram Kirpal Yadav and spokesman Shakeel Ahmed Khan told reporters here that the NDA government should resign after the revelation that Rs 11,412 crore had been illegally withdrawn from different treasuries between April 1, 2002 and March 31, 2008.
The two RJD leaders alleged that officials were being forced by the NDA government to submit fake DC bills to the CAG under duress and demanded filing of criminal cases against CM and deputy CM as well as officials who were submitting fake bills to the CAG.
