Patna, June 01: After the ouster of co-operative minister Ramadhar Singh, opposition RJD today trained its gun at Bihar Urban Development Minister Prem Kumar and demanded his sacking as he was an absconder in a case in his native Gaya district.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should seek the minister”s resignation or sack him if he did not do it on his own as in the case of Ramadhar Singh, RJD spokesman Shakeel Ahmed Khan told reporters here.
Kumar had been declared an absconder by a court in a case and was guilty of concealing the case status while filing nomination from Gaya town Assembly constituency for the assembly polls held last year, Khan claimed.
The revelations about pendency of criminal cases against these two ministers, who were also senior BJP leaders, were not isolated cases as there were at least a dozen tainted ministers in the NDA government in the state, he said.
The RJD will expose them “one by one” so that people knew about the background of their ministers, he said.
Taking a dig at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Khan said it was ironical that he was harping on good governance with “tainted” ministers in his government.
“What type of ”sushashan” (good governance) is this? Some ministers are declared absconders and face grave criminal charges,” the RJD leader said.
Ramadhar Singh had quit on May 20 as the charge raised against him by RJD was found to be true. He is now in judicial custody.
