New Delhi:RJD on Wednesday launched plantation drive across Bihar on the occasion of 27th birthday of its leader and Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and state Congress chief and minister Ashok Choudhary were among others who wished Tejaswi Yadav, who is younger son of RJD President Lalu Prasad and RJDLP leader in the state Assembly, on his birthday.
Kumar wished Yadav from the stage at Bettiah while addressing ‘Chetna sabha’ at the launch of his ‘Nishchay Yatra’.
State RJD Chief Ramchandra Purbe led the party leaders and workers in planting a sapling at the state party headquarters.
Purbe said that plantation programme was held by the RJD workers in every district and block during the day to make Bihar pollution free.
Tejaswi while talking to mediapersons before leaving for Bettiah for ‘Nishchay Yatra’ highlighted virtues of the plantation programme.
Patna and other major towns of Bihar are battling surging air and noise pollution.
