30-year-old, Mohammed Riyazuddin has been leading the prayer in the open parking area of Rajiv Gandhi International airport for 6 years. Riyazuddin son of Mohammed Misbahuddin resides in Sayeedabad.
Riyazuddin leads Friday prayer and delivers Friday sermon. Braving rain, winter chill and scorching summer heat devotedly, he led the prayers. Several times it was tried to stop the prayer. Conspiracies were hatched, this imam and khateeb was threatened but he stood resolute in his devotion. As a result of his continuous struggle, GMR set up tents for the devotees.
Mohammed Riyazuddin revealed that deputy chief minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali also offered prayer at the place and he promised to construct a permanent place of worship here.
