Rivals compromise on Nizam property

Hyderabad, December 31: A division bench of the AP High Court comprising Justice Seshasayana Reddy and Justice P Durga Prasad on Thursday recorded a compromise between rival claimants and put to rest claims to the tune of about Rs 14 crore of property belonging to the late Nizam.

Children and grandchildren of Nizam had filed a suit in 1995 before the civil court in Hyderabad making various claims. The one-and-a-half decade litigation was set to rest in the appeal filed in 2000 on the basis of a compromise deed filed by the parties. About 130 persons filed the memo of compromise which was taken on record by the bench today.

STATE GOVERNMENT WARNED: A division bench of the AP High Court comprising Justice G Raghuram and Justice Ramesh Ranganathan on Thursday forewarned the state government of what was in store in the Zaheerabad land scam.

The bench is dealing with a case filed by Amanullah Ghouri complaining that land meant for the poor was allotted to functionaries of the municipality. The bench has in the past and today wondered as to why the government was treating the accused, former municipal chairman Murali Krishna Goud, with kid gloves. He was suspended for a paltry period of three days.
