Riots created sense of insecurity among minorities

Mr. Asif pasha former minister, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan editor Siasat and honourable member of National Integrity Council and National Foundation for communal Harmony, Mr. Lal Jan Pasha former MP, Mr. Syed Aziz Pasha former MP, Dr. Gopal Kishan, Khaleelur Rahman, Thakur Hrudayanath Singh, Mr. Ved Kumar, Mr. Aliuddin Qaudri, Prof. Masood Ali Khan, Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Mr. Bhasker Bini advocate and leaders of Elders Think Tank asserted that the soil of Deccan has always been the abode of peace and communal harmony. But after Eid-ul-Azha some incidents of stabbing and setting two wheelers on fire occurred. Later one-sided communal riots occurred in Sangareddy. After some days violence erupted in Madannapet area in a dramatic manner. And there were alleged one-sided arrests too.

It is but natural that all these incidents created the sense of insecurity among the Muslims and put a question mark on the performance of intelligence department. The spate of incidents indicates that an organized group wants to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of the city. Even many places of worship were desecrated but the Hindu-Muslim unity foiled the attempts.

The leaders of the Elders Think Tank suggested constituting Integrity Council on state level and establishment of Foundation for Communal Harmony. It also suggested including retired officials of police and administration, representatives of peace committees, religious scholars and advocates as its members.
