RIL slips marginally on BSE in a weak broader market

Mumbai, January 22: Shares of Reliance Industries today witnessed volatility before closing marginally lower at Rs 1,053.15 on the Bombay Stock Exchange after the company reported nearly 16 per cent jump in the third quarter figures.

RIL, which had fell over 2 per cent in the morning trade, rebounded in the afternoon session after the company announced its third quarter figures. The scrip rose by 1.54 per cent to Rs 1,070 on BSE in the mid session.

However, profit booking later in the day eroded the gains and the stock closed at Rs 1,053.15, lower by 0.06 per cent over the previous close. It market valuation stood at Rs 3.44 lakh crore at the end of trade.

The company today reported its first increase in net profit in over a year’s time with a 15.8 per cent rise at Rs 4,008 crore in the period ended December 31.
