Rijiju should be removed: Hariprasad

New Delhi: Attacking the NDA government over Union Minister Kiren Rijiju’s alleged involvement in a Rs 450 crore scam in a power project in Arunachal Pradesh, Congress general secretary BK Hariprasad today said he should be removed if BJP believes in zero tolerance towards corruption.

“Rijiju has been caught in the scam. He has no business to stay, he should step down. That’s why we are protesting.

BJP claims it has zero tolerance for corruption. If at all it is very much against corruption, Rijiju should resign,” he told reporters outside Parliament.

Rajya Sabha member KTS Tulsi also said the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs should resign taking moral responsibility and referred to Karnataka minister HY Meti stepping down after being hit by an alleged sex CD scandal.

“It (resignation by the Karnataka minister) is a good precedent. (But) over here (in the central government), nobody is accepting moral responsibility. And they think boulders can be transported on scooter, two-wheeler…he should resign,” he said.
