Pahalgam (Jammu and Kashmir): Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju on Saturday lauded the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) for conducting numerous successful operations in Jammu and Kashmir.
He was addressing the CRPF jawans during his visit to 116 Battalion CRPF headquarters at Pahalgam.
Rijiju lauded the efforts of the CRPF jawans in conducting numerous successful operations in the Valley in perfect coordination and synergy with Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Indian Army to maintain a very difficult law and order situation in the face of grave provocation.
The union minister urged all the officers and jawans to continue the good work and bridge the gap with civilians created after 2016 unrest by undertaking meaningful civic action programmes.
During interaction, Rijiju assured the jawans to address their issues and concerns.
Rijiju was accompanied by S N Srivastava, SDG CRPF J-K zone; Zulfiquar Hasan, IG, CRPF Ops Kashmir; S P Pani, DIG, SKR, JKP and Sanjoy Roy, Director, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and local civil and administrative officials.
Rijiju was apprised about the security situation in the Kashmir Valley and achievements of Special Forces during last one year. He was also informed about the new challenges and core issues of concern that require intervention of the MHA. (ANI)
