Rijiju hails work done by India in disaster management

Jaipur : Highlighting the need for better preparedness to mitigate disasters, Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday said there is a lot for the world to learn from the work done by India during last 20 months in disaster management.

“The expansion of human activity makes us more prone to natural disasters. The confluence of population growth and fast industrialisation is bound to lead to more disasters in India,” said Rijiju, while speaking at the All India Regional Editors Conference here on Tuesday.

Underlining the role of media, he said the role of the media in disaster management is as important as that of the Government. (ANI)
