Warangal, May 15: A relentless crusader of human rights, one of the founders of Human Rights Forum and Kakatiya University Prof Burra Ramulu (58) died of illness here on Saturday.
He breathed his last in a private hospital this afternoon battling cancer for the last few months. When his condition deteriorated, he was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad but later shifted to a private hospital here.
Ramulu, since his student days, worked as a Left extremist leader. Since 1990, Ramulu dedicated himself to leading civil rights movements.
He worked in association with human rights leader Dr Balagopal.
Finding facts behind several encounters between police and Naxals, he never feared from making them public.
