Hyderabad: Student community and the lovers of Urdu are wonderstruck at the ongoing rift between the Chancellor and the Vice Chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad.
VC of MANUU, Dr. Aslam Parvaiz alleges that the Chancellor the University is unnecessarily intervening in administration whereas Mr. Feroz Bakht says that the Chancellor has not been appointed only to distribute degrees. He can also tender advice to the university for its betterment and can pointout its mistakes.
It is very surprising that this conflict has been going on for the past few months but Ministry of HRD did not find any solution for it. Mr. Prakash Javdekar, Minister for HRD can resolve this matter.
According to the report published in Inquilab Urdu Daily, its correspondent talked to Chancellor and VC on telephone.
VC of MANUU, Dr. Aslam Parvaiz told that Chancellor of the university, Mr. Feroz Bakht recommended for the transfer of a person and also for the appointment of another person. The Chancellor also recommended for admitting non-Urdu knowing students in the university. He started taking classes in the Dept. of English and Journalism.
VC clarified that Chancellor is invited on the occasion of the foundation day of the university or its board meeting. He cannot be invited for taking class or to participate in the workshop. When this was brought to the notice of the Chancellor, he got irritated and started leveling charges against the VC.
When the correspondent contacted Chancellor, he said that he is aware of the University act. He admitted that he had recommended for the transfer of an individual and maintained that it is not a bad thing. He further said that as the social activist, he has been recommending such cases in the past also. He denied that he had recommended for the appointment of someone.
He further said that he had proposed for the establishment of progressive center for studies which is his constitutional right. It is for the university to implement or reject it.
