Hyderabad, July 26: Telangana Rashtra Samiti appears to have an edge over ruling Congress and main Opposition Telugu Desam Party in the by-elections to 12 Assembly constituencies slated for tomorrow in the Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh.
Riding the crest of an unprecedented Telangana wave worked up by a cross-section of pro-Telangana activists and organisations, TRS seems raring to uproot Congress and TDP completely from the region.
Congress and TDP have only a slim chance of win in a couple of constituencies, say political analysts.
Neither the Congress’ development mantra, coupled with the claim that it alone could ultimately deliver statehood for the region appears to have not cut any ice with the electorate, nor the fight over Babhli issue has done any good to TDP’s electoral prospects.
