Rich tributes were paid to eminent scholar and senior leader of Jamat-e-Islami Hind Maulana Mohammed Abdul Aziz who passed away recently.
Addressing a condolence meeting at Masjid-e-Aaliya at Gun Foundry here on Sunday, personalities, representing various organisation including political parties, recalled the services of Moulana Abdul Aziz in bringing a change in the society, especially in the education sector.
Addressing the gathering Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee Vice-President Mohammed Ali Shabbir described Moulana Abdul Aziz’s demise as a heavy loss to the Muslim community. Recalling his association with him, he said was highly inspired with Moulana’s call for youth to bring about a change in the society. He said Moulana did not confine himself to the drawing room discussions, but visited rural and remote areas to bring awareness among the people on the importance of education and spreading the real message of Islam.
Shabbir Ali said youth should get an inspiration from the life of Moulana Abdul Aziz who devoted all his resources and life for the welfare of people.
Eminent Islamic scholar Mufti Sadeq Mohiuddin, President of Masjid-e-Aaliya Ghulam Yadzani and other religious leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind addressed the condolence meeting.
Moulana Abdul Aziz had served as the Naib Amir of the Jamat from 1990 to 2003. He was also the founder-member of Movement for Peace and Justice for Andhra Pradesh. (INN)
