Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. General (Rtd.) Zameeruddin Shah named the Center for Strategic Studies after Tipu Sultan who had struggled against British Imperialism and had prayed for the security of the country. He was delivering presidential address at the third national seminar on “Secularism and Communal Harmony” organized by Sir Syed Awareness Forum of Aligarh Muslim University.
Vice Chancellor of Mangalayatan University, Aligarh, Brig. Surjeet Pabla participate in the seminar as the Chief Guest. In his address he paid rich tributes to the governance and services of Tipu Sultan and said that he was the embodiment of secularism and the symbol of our common heritage. He was not only a ruler but also an Engineer who introduced missile technology to the world.
Prof. Shakeel Samdani, founder President of Sir Syed Awareness Forum told that these days attempts are being made to make zeros heroes and heroes zeros but such attempts will not be tolerated. Tipu Sultan got his name entered in golden letters in the list of Indian Martyrs by sacrificing his life. Head of the Department of History, Prof. Ali Athar, Principal Women’s College, Prof. Nayeema Gulrez, Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. A.K. Durrani, Human Rights Activist, Dr. Mohibbul Haq (Political Science) and others also spoke on this occasion and declared that Tipu Sultan was a staunch Muslim and a brave patriot of India who was the follower of our cultural traditions. He was well versed in Arabic, Persian, Kannada and Urdu languages. Due to his love for the people he ruled the hearts of the people of Mysore. Ms. Ayesha Samdani presented a research paper. Impressed by her paper, Dr. Surjeet Pabla presented her a laptop. Dr. Javeed Akhtar proposed vote of thanks at the end of the seminar.
