(Siasat News) TDP condemned the damaged caused to the properties and business of the Muslims in Sangareddy on a mass scale and demanded stern action against the miscreants. It also deplored the presence of lethargic and narrow minded communal officers in police department. Mr. Chandrababu Naidu along with Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor Siasat and other workers of TDP inspected the riot affected areas of Sangareddy yesterday. He listened to the grief of the victims very patiently. He consoled them and advised them to face the difficulties with courage and determination to march forward. He said that a person can achieve success only through self-confidence. His visit conquered the hearts of the affected people. Mr. M.A. Hakeem, under his supervision got Mr. Naidu inspected the damaged properties of the Muslims. He inspected the New Grand Hotel. Its proprietor Mr. Ishaq Ur Rahman gave the details of the incident. He told that the communal elements continued damaging hotel property for 50 minutes, but the police didn’t come to his help. If police had helped on time, so much damage wouldn’t have been caused.
Police played the role of the silent spectators. People present on the occasion of Mr. Babu’s visit criticized the inactive role of the police. They said police is showing alertness now. Had it acted quickly on that day, the riot couldn’t have been intensified. People pointed out that the local MLA and Congress workers were involved in the riot. Mr. Babu later met Mr. Mohammed Jeelani, owner of Grand Pan Shop, and Mr. Ishtiaq Ur Rahman, Proprietor of Grand Bakery. In the riot damaged caused to Grand Hotel is Rs. 15 lakh, Rs. 5.30 lakh for bakery, and Rs. 90,000 for the pan shop. Mr. Majid, the owner of Asian Pan Shop showed his burnt out shop. Milan sweet house and Hellen optical’s were also damaged. The maximum damage was caused to S.A. Electricals which has been reduced to ashes. Its owner Mr. Syed Munawar told that he has incurred a loss to the tune of Rs. 25 lakh.
TDP Supremo Mr. Naidu consoled the victims that his party is with them and it would help them start their business afresh. He went to Nomania Mosque and met its Imam and the representatives of Jamiatul-Ulema. He told that places of worship of all the religions should be respected.
