RGI Airport Custom Officials seize 2.7 Kilograms of Gold Bars from a passenger

The RGI Airport Custom Officials at Shamshabad Airport has seized 2.7 Kilograms of Gold Bars from a passenger. The total value of the gold is Rs. 78.30 Lakhs.

Based on intelligent profiling, the officers of Customs Air Intelligence Unit, B-Batch, RGIA, Hyderabad, at about 03.30 Hrs. of April 9, 2014 intercepted 1 passenger by name Fatima Shaheen, who arrived to RGIA, Shamshabad by Qatar Airways flight No. QR500. On questioning by the officers, about possession of any dutiable /prohibited goods, the passengers denied and replied in negative. However, after detailed examination, the officers recovered 2.7 Kilograms of Gold Bars from the passengers. The total value of seized goods is expected to be Rs. 78.30 Lakhs. The passengers were interrogated and they admitted the offence. Further follow-up investigation is going on.

The entire operation was done under the guidance of . R. Manohar, IRS, Additional Commissioner, E.V.N Reddy, Deputy Commissioner. . A. Dhileeban, Assistant Commissioner has supervised the operation. Shri. N.S. Ramakrishna Rao, Air Customs Superintendent of Air Intelligence Unit effected the seizure. Shaik Hussain (ACS), and M. Pratap Reddy, Air Customs Officers and P.
