RGI Airport Custom Officials seize 1.5 kgs of Gold from two passengers

The RGI Airport Custom Officials at Shamshabad Airport has seized 1.5 kgs of Gold from two passengers. The total value of the gold is Rs. 43 Lakhs.

Based on intelligent profiling, the officers of Custom Air Intelligence, RGIA, Hyderabad, on April 4, 2014 intercepted two passengers hails Abdul Nassar from Kerala and Ghulam Jilani from Hyderabad who was arrived to RGIA, Shamshabad from Dubai UAE Flight No EK 526. Gold has been hidden inside car speakers, Talcum powder tins, Nivea cream boxes and pax tried to escape. But Customs-Air Intelligence Unit has caught them.

On questioning by the officers, about possession of any dutiable /prohibited goods, the passenger denied and replied in negative. However, after detailed examination, the officers recovered 1.5 Kgs of Gold from the passengers. The passengers was interrogated and he admitted the offence and booked a case against them. (INN)
