Revolver, bullets seized from motor mechanic

Hyderabad, June 11: Police on Wednesday nabbed a motor-winding worker at the Vijaynagar Colony and recovered from him a country-made revolver, 14 rounds of .38 mm and 19 rounds of .22 mm ammunition. The accused was looking for buyers for the arms, police said.

“Two months ago, the accused, Mohd Mujeeb Ahmed from First Lancer purchased the country-made revolver and live rounds from one Mohd Haroon of Ahmed Nagar for Rs 15,000. He planned to sell them away for Rs 50,000,” Task Force DCP VB Kamalasan Reddy said.

Police could trace out Haroon (70) but could not interrogate him due to his poor health condition. “We are verifying the claims of Mujeeb about the origin of the weapon,” the DCP said. Mujeeb who owns Everest Electrical Works at First Lancer was handed over to the Humayunnagar police for further action.
